Marci Reiss, LCSW President
Marci Reiss, LCSW has been working for almost a decade on assisting patients and their families manage the psychosocial impact of illness. Several years ago, Marci established a program for children with Crohns’ Disease and Ulcerative Colitis at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles – a program which has become an international model for comprehensive medical care. Marci’s experiences with IBD, both personally and professionally have led to her consulting with physicians and hospitals internationally to assist them in creating psychosocial programs. She also lectures internationally on coping with illness and the impact of illness on the individual and family.
Marci has served on the Medical Advisory Committee for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and is a frequent lecturer at their education symposia. She has also lectured extensively for leading pharmaceutical companies including Shire and UCB.
Adam Sadowsky Vice President
Adam Sadowsky has been an extraordinary volunteer facilitator for Pediatric IBD Support Groups for the last 4 years. He is a mentor and has helped countless people, young and old, live productive, happy lives while coping with their disease. In late 2006, he helped Marci Reiss start the IBD Support Foundation.
Adam has been an Ulcerative Colitis patient himself since 1984, and has used his personal and professional experiences with IBD to guide, advise and support others with IBD in the most caring and humorous manner.
In addition to his work with IBDSF, Adam volunteers as a camp counselor at camps for children with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis annually. Adam was the 2007 Honoree at the IBD Support Foundations first Evening of Inspiration for his contributions to those who suffer from IBD and their families.
Miriam Erdosi, MSW Los Angeles Project Manager
Miriam Erdosi, MSW has been working on behalf of patients with IBD and their families since 2004. Miriam understands the importance of psychosocial support for patients and recognizes the need for support programs and on-going education as a critical part of total IBD patient care. Prior to joining IBDSF, Miriam acted as the Education Manager for the Los Angeles/Orange County Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Among her responsibilities, Miriam was responsible for coordinating educational programs for patients affected by IBD. Additionally, Miriam's principal role as Education Manager involved interacting with both local and national physicians and advocating for IBD patients. While with CCFA, Miriam successfully grew Camp Oasis, a summer camp for children who suffer from IBD. Additionally, Miriam co-facilitated pediatric support groups for children struggling with the daily impact of life with IBD. Miriam has dedicated her career to Foundation work and most recently was the Orange County Program Director for the March of Dimes. She returned to serve the IBD community in May, 2008 when she joined the dedicated team at the IBD Support Foundation.
